I thought I would post some fall photos of the babies. I can’t believe how big they are getting!!! Both of them are outgrowing their clothes and racing into childhood before I can even blink. That’s part of why I am posting these…because I have hardly taken any pictures of Cana (compared to when Vaden was this age), and she’s already a little chubbette. She’s in 9-12 mos clothes at 4 months old. Vaden weighed more than she does at this age, but he wasn’t in this big size of clothing–weird, huh?
Anyway…things are a little crazy here still! Spent Tuesday night in the ER with Cana, who broke out in some wild rash without a fever, puzzling not only us, but every doctor we came into contact with. Her initial bloodwork came back fine, so they sent us home to “watch and see” and then some cultures came back today, more expected Monday, which have indicated some kind of infection that requires antibiotics. We are praying it subsides!

In other family news, it looks like we have ourselves two sets of double-finger-suckers. Except most of the time, Cana is sucking her left first two fingers, whereas Vaden sucks his right. But sometimes, she does the right, too. I have photographic proof. Forgive Vaden’s grumpy face, he’d just woken up from a nap.

Vaden now eats with his own utensils, and says “NO no NO,” if you try to feed him. (Don’t worry, we don’t always let him get away with that “no” business.) Vaden is loving his independence– doing everything by himself. We have to watch him though, as this also includes getting on and off the couch, climbing up and down stairs, and brushing his teeth (which can be a little precarious to do solo as a toddler.) Vaden loves his sister. Especially when she’s asleep, when suddenly she commands his undivided attention. He loads her up with toys and burp cloths and shouts of his accomplishments, inevitably waking her up. And she does NOT like to be startled awake. But she sure does love her brother. She watches him all day and smiles at him and thinks he is just the best thing. It melts my little fat heart. Speaking of which–I am now fitting into my fat pants, with all the buttons buttoned! Up until now, I have been only wearing maternity clothes, as extra motivation to get back into my normal clothes. WOOHOO for me.
